Tool to merge PDF files

Lately I need to merge multiple PDF files because that makes it easier to review them and port them to my mobile devices.

Researching on the web I found a very good tool that meets the goal: pdftk. This toolkit is like the Swiss Army knife for PDFs. Among its features I can mention:
  • Join, split, and rotate PDF files.
  • Encrypt and decrypt (password required).
  • Fill out PDF forms.
  • Apply watermark backgrounds.
  • Repair corrupt PDF files.
The only detail with this solution (for some users) is that it works from the console. It does not has a graphic solution. Although it is available for Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and Solaris.

Behind this solution is a project supporting it, PDFLabs, which consists of tools, services and codes for users and developers interested in PDF. Its author, Sid Steward, share all the necessary documentation to learn to work with PDF files.
