Panama Fedora team participated in Festival Latinoamericano de Instalación de Software Libre (FLISOL) given on Saturday, April 11th at Universidad del Istmo, Chiriquí headquarters.
We had the opportunity to present lectures and workshops, which were well received by the event participants. Among the topics presented were:
- Alejandro Pérez: Introduction to free software
- Luis Bazán: How to participate on Fedora Project?
- Johel Batista: How Fedora have changed my life?
- Luis Segundo: Mobile development with Firefox OS
- Kiara Navarro: Arduino with Fedora
- Juan Barba: Graphic design with Fedora
- Abdel Martínez: Fedora Atomic + Docker
Alongside us was Rafael Agostini, Panamanian web and mobile developer, who gave a presentation on best practices when developing a mobile application.
About 10 Fedora installations were performed. This represents 20% of the event participants.
Another important detail is that the Fedora Atomic + Docker presentation, gave us the opportunity to have the approval from Docker to organise the first Docker Meetup in Panama.
Finally, we are preparing a new member, Kenneth Guerra, which we hope will be an active contributor to the project and help us on organising Chiriqui Fedora-related events.
