On Saturday July 2th we celebrate the 24th release of Fedora with a release party that we held at the offices of Rootstack (Website, Twitter).

Fedora 22 Release Party - Panama

On Thursday June 25 we celebrate the 22th release of Fedora with a release party that we held at Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (Website, Twitter).

Fedora 20 Release Party - Panama

On Saturday January 11 we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Fedora with a great release party. This time it was held at CoworkingPTY (website, twitter), which is a space for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Fedora 19 Release Party - Panama

"Sir, you can not enter the building in shorts", that's the way I started the Release Party: going back to home and change my outfit because of an university rule infringement (the curious thing is that I'm a graduate student from the university).

Fedora 17 Release Party

On Saturday June 2 we had the Fedora Beefy Miracle release party. We have a little assistance but with good participation. We discuss some new features that bring Fedora at is 17th version. At noon we share some hot dogs and at the end we ate a delicious cake. Thanks to Karina Sánchez for the organization and all who could attend. This link has photos of the meeting.

Fiesta de Lanzamiento de Fedora 17

El sábado 2 de junio se realizó la fiesta de lanzamiento de Fedora Beefy Miracle. Contamos con una poca asistencia pero con buena participación. Aprovechamos para conversar un poco de las nuevas funcionalidades que trae la versión 17 de Fedora. Al mediodía compartimos unos hot dogs y al final comimos un delicioso dulce. Fedora & Ubuntu Release Party

On November 11, 2010 Fedora Panama celebrate the Fedora Laughlin Release Party along with the Ubuntu LoCo Team.  It was a complete success.  First of all, it was located on Exedra Books at Via España.  Secondly, we present slides with the new features of Fedora 14.  Also we spoke of the Fedora Community and the FUDCon LATAM 2011.  Finally, we ate some snacks.

Exedra Books is a meeting point between books and readers, promoting culture and family at the personal level.  The following link show the location of it (using Google Maps).

Alejandro Pérez (Fedora Ambassador), Diego Tejera (Ubuntu LoCo Team) and I said some speeches of several interesting topics.  Alejandro spoke about FedoraCommunity and RPMDEV.  Diego Tejera spoke about Ubuntu Community and the new features of Ubuntu 10.10.  I spoke about the new features of Fedora Laughlin.  Also I explained a little about the steps for users to participate on Fedora Community.

An important topic that Alejandro and I spoke was the FUDCon LATAM 2011.  People love to hear that Panama will be the headquarter of this magnum event.  Many panamanian Fedora users want to participate.

There were a lot of interested people.  They asked us about IRC, mailing list and so on.  Also about being a developer for Fedora Community.  I think this event help the local community to obtain more adepts.

I'm glad and proud that Fedora Panama is growing and I'm sure that my country will do a great job for Fedora Project.

Fedora 13 Release Party - PANAMÁ

We celebrate Fedora 13 Release Party on June 11th in Tambal (Restaurant & Pizza).  Many people went there including ambassadors, users and fans.


We expose slides with the new features of "Goddard".  Also we present the KDE and GNOME desktops.  We discuss about the importance of Free Software in our country and the impact of Fedora in our society.  We ate pizza too.
